Lisa has been a practicing Physiotherapist for 28 years. The care she provides has focused primarily on outpatient Physiotherapy including orthopedics, neurology and pediatrics. She uses manual therapy, exercise instruction, education, acupuncture, taping, sports assessments/conditioning and ultrasound to assist her clients in their road to recovery
Lisa enjoys working with people of all ages and conditions. She strives to continue with patient-centred care, providing each client with the understanding of their condition and empowering them to be involved in the treatment they receive. It is a priority for Lisa to stay current through research, reading, and post graduate courses. Relationships with other practitioners are also important to her; she maintains contact with many other health care practitioners including collaboration in client care. She is an avid runner and fitness enthusiast.
Education is a strong part of every client’s program, Lisa has furthered her interest in teaching, starting 12 years ago at a private college. Lisa has volunteered for years as an instructor in running and walking biomechanics. She instructs Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy assistant students at Georgian College and nurses studying to specialize in Podortho Nursing, having written the chapter on biomechanics for the corresponding textbook.
