Nurses are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500.00 in tuition fees upon successful completion through the Nursing Education Initiative (NEI).
Each student receives a one year complementary membership to the Ontario Podortho® Nursing Association Inc. to provide ongoing career support.
Our program offers the most advanced theoretical and practical knowledge intake to specialize in all aspects of foot and lower limb care to a Nurses full scope of practice.
With locations in Barrie, London, Ottawa and Ottawa University for easy access from all over the province with many more to come! Hotel accommodations included for clinical days for those travelling from longer distances.
Offering a specialized textbook designed for our Podortho® Foot Specialist to specialize in Foot and Lower Limb Care within a Nurses scope of practice.
Our program tuitions (PPSW & Podortho® Foot Specialist) are recognized and covered through both the Canada - Ontario Job Grants and the Beausoleil First Nation Education.
Our program is accredited through the Ontario Podortho® Nursing Association Inc. (OPNA) who communicate Podortho® Nurse Core Competencies which is required for Podortho® Nurse members to maintain membership.
The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) recognizes the OPNA as a supporting association for nurses who practice in advanced nursing foot & lower limb care.
At the Feet For Life School of Podortho® Nursing we offer exceptional courses to ensure that future Podortho® Foot Specialists obtain the highest amount of knowledge from instructors with decades of experience operating successful Podortho® Foot Specialist Foot Care practices in Foot & Lower Limb care utilizing top of the line equipment and instruments. Each Nurse (Podortho Student) has the opportunity to learn innovative techniques and work with new technologies to support their practice and learn how to offer a wide range of treatments for the clients they will treat. This includes orthotic therapy, compression therapy, laser therapy and much more. New Nurses will gain knowledge and clinical skills to develop a professional career in this field of practice. This program is also for experienced foot care nurses who wish to update their practical skills and knowledge working within the Health Care Team or expanding their current independent practice.

(OPNA Provincial Podortho® Foot Specialist Exam)
This program is completed at the students own pace as we recognize how busy a nurse’s career is and the commitment to continuing education can be daunting. Once registered the nurse can become certified quickly and start their new career and earn a great income in as quick as two weeks.
This post graduate nursing program includes the most advanced education and clinical training for Nurses in this field of health care and is geared specifically to Nurses who wish to work to their full scope of practice and obtain specialized knowledge, skills, and judgement. Once completing this program, the Podortho® Foot Specialist will gain confidence to practice independently and competently when delivering this much needed care in our communities across Ontario, Canada.

This post graduate program is for RN’s, RPN’s and NP’s who wish to advance their careers in the specialized field of medical foot and lower limb care. This continuing education program is consistent with the College of Nurses of Ontario’s Quality Assurances program. The Nurse will advance their knowledge, skills, and judgement in this area of care. The design of this program is to guide our students so that they acquire the appropriate competencies and feel confident to deliver this care when they complete our program. Our students will have access to ongoing support through the Ontario Podortho® Nursing Association Inc. An Ontario registered not-for-profit organization designed to support Podortho® Foot Specialists in their quest to provide advanced quality client care while working to their full scope of practice.
Our students (nurses) will be expected to conduct some of their own research and possess the competencies to know when and how to assess related information which will continue throughout their Podortho® Foot Specialist Career. Once completing module one theory component students will be able to utilize the knowledge obtained to transfer this into practical skills. Each student will also complete the required textbook reading and chapter questions and assignments which will be submitted to their facilitator online. OPNA approved provincial exam will be based on what the student has learn in class and clinical.
Attendance is 100% mandatory for in class learning and clinical. Exceptions can be made for students who are travelling from long distances if extenuating circumstances are present.
